13″ Square Doily

This medium-sized hardanger embroidery doily is spectacular. Completed in 2103, this piece contains a variety of stitches that were carefully chosen in order to draw the eye to different areas of viewing.

I have been creating hardanger designs for over 30 years and love the thrill of starting with a basic outline before even figuring out what the remaining piece looks like. I’ve yet to be disappointed with the outcome.

Size:  13½” square

Materials:  DMC Perle Cotton White Thread (sizes 8 & 5), White Hardanger Fabric

Cleaning Instructions:  Always hand wash in mild detergent, cool water, and lay flat between towels to dry. Do NOT wash in hot water or washing machine because your piece may shrink, become misshapen, or fall apart from pulling. Do NOT dry in dryer for the same reasons.

Price:  $200

Value:  $275

 Elegant Ring Bearer’s Pillow

This elegant white hardanger embroidery ring bearer’s pillow is a must have for any wedding. I created one just like it for my wedding. It’s quite unique with complicated stitching and laced edge. You will be the envy of every bride when your ring bearer carries this pillow down the aisle.

Complete with pearlized beads, this pillow will be a huge hit and be a wonderful decorative accent to your home after the big day. Feel free to tie the gold rings back on with the bows or leave as bows.

While the top is hardanger, the backing is of a stiff organza-type fabric. Because I made this piece over 30 years ago and stored it away, I simply can’t remember the exact fabric that I used. But it’s pretty. Batting was used for the filler.

While I enjoy working on linen, working on traditional hardanger fabric is my favorite medium. Also, the laced edge is a great alternative to the traditional blanket stitched edge when dressing up a piece such as this is essential.

Size:  12” square including the 2” laced edge

Materials:  DMC Perle Cotton White Thread (sizes 8 & 5), White Hardanger Fabric, stiff organza-type fabric, batting

Cleaning Instructions:  Remove gold rings when washing until the piece is dry. Always hand wash in mild detergent, cool water, and lay flat between towels to dry. Do NOT wash in hot water or washing machine because your piece may shrink, become misshapen, or fall apart from pulling. Do NOT dry in dryer for the same reasons.

 Ring Bearer’s Pillow

Because I created this hardanger embroidery ring bearer’s pillow over 25 years ago, it could well be thought of as vintage. But it would work well for any year, including now, to beautify your wedding service. Likewise, it will be a wonderful decorative accent to your home after the big day. Feel free to tie the gold rings back on with the bows or leave as bows.

The edge is finished with white lace and the backing is of a stiff organza-type fabric. Because I made this piece over 25 years ago and stored it away, I simply can’t remember the exact fabric that I used. But it’s pretty. Batting was used for the filler.

While I enjoy working on linen, working on traditional hardanger fabric is my favorite medium. Also, the laced edge is a great alternative to the traditional blanket stitched edge when dressing up a piece such as this is essential.

Size:  8½” diameter and 1” lace

Materials:  DMC Perle Cotton White Thread (sizes 8 & 5), White Hardanger Fabric, lace, stiff organza-type fabric, batting

 Taupe Runner

Have you considered two-toned hardanger embroidery pieces? If not, this table runner will change your mind. Placed on a navy blue, brown, or white tablecloth, this piece is exquisite. Add glass, brass, or silver candlesticks for a complete look.

I created this table runner over 20 years ago and have never used it because I already had so many other pieces. I was creating one after the next and simply stored them all away because I simply enjoyed creating designs. It’s been stored in tissue paper and protected in a cedar chest since being washed prior to storage. There is a slight cedar smell, but not offensive. The smell goes away if you choose to wash it again

I have been creating hardanger designs for over 30 years and love the thrill of starting with a basic outline before even figuring out what the remaining piece looks like. I’ve yet to be disappointed with the outcome.

Size:  38½” X 6½”
